Regional Workshops

Regional Workshops address key issues in the sport and recreation industry. These forums are FREE and aim to increase the skills and knowledge of coaches, officials, administrators and volunteers in the sport and recreation industry.

All presenters are highly respected professionals in their field. By attending these forums, it is hoped that you will walk away armed with a plethora of ideas and are motivated to take on all challenges which you may face in your involvement with your club or organisation.

The Building Active Communities Workshops are an excellent opportunity for community sport and recreation key stakeholders, such as coaches, instructors, officials, committee members, administrators and volunteers to access quality information and training.

The Regional Workshops focus on key local issues, helping to build on knowledge within the local community and encourage sport and recreation development throughout Queensland. The Workshops are an excellent opportunity for community sport and recreation key stakeholders, such as coaches, instructors, officials, committee members, administrators and volunteers to access quality information and training.

There are a variety of different workshops covering a range of topics relevant to the sport and recreation industry. Workshops available for you to attend in 2009 are:

  • Harassment Free Sport / Dealing with Difficult Behaviour
  • Risk Reduction
  • Sponsorship and Marketing
  • Sports Medicine Awareness Course (SMAC)

  • Sports Psychology
  • Sports Strapping
  • Advanced Sports Strapping
  • Strength and Conditioning
  • Succession Planning for Clubs
  • Volunteer Management
  • Water Issues / Field Maintenance
  • Sports Summits

Duration
Most courses run for three hours in the evening from 6pm to 9pm on a week night or on a Saturday morning. This is with the exception of Club Committees, Coaching General Principles, and Sports Summit Workshops, which either run over two weekday evenings, or from 9am to 5pm on a Saturday or Sunday.

Cost
Attendance to any of the Regional Workshops is FREE.

All RSVPs must be received at least two working days prior to the workshop you wish to attend.
