About the program
The Sport and Active Recreation Flood Recovery Program has been developed to provide one-off financial assistance to sport and active recreation organisations to assist in re-establishing sport and active recreation within areas declared under the Queensland Government Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (NDRRA).
Who can apply?
To be eligible, your organisation must:
- be located in an area declared under the Queensland Government NDRRA as at 21 February 2008;
- be able to demonstrate tenure over a facility that has suffered damage as a direct result of flood inundation in the declared areas;
- have suffered damage to sport and active recreation equipment or infrastructure as a direct result of flood waters (not just storm damage);
- be an incorporated not-for-profit sport or recreation organisation; and
- not have already received flood assistance for the items claimed or have flood insurance that would cover the damage caused.

Completion of program and final acquittal required by 31 December 2008
How much funding is available?
Successful organisations are eligible to receive a one-off payment of up to $5000 (GST exclusive) to cover loss of sport or active recreation equipment, small capital equipment and/or minor repairs as a result of flooding.
