APPLICATIONS FOR FUNDING ARE NOW CLOSED

The Sport and Recreation Development Program 2008-2010 (the Program) provides funding to state sport and active recreation organisations and industry service organisations. These funds support organisational development and enhance delivery of their services.

Who can apply?

The following categories of Organisations are eligible to apply for funding under the Program: State Sporting Organisations (SSOs), State Recreation Organisations (SROs) and Industry Service Organisations (ISOs).

Eligible organisations

To be eligible to receive funding under the Program, Organisations are defined as:

  • SSOs - incorporated Organisations which administer a sport and have State-wide networks
  • SROs - incorporated Organisations which administer activities that meet the definition of physically active recreation activities and have a demonstrated capacity to deliver services through a State-wide network
  • ISOs - State-wide Organisations that provide services to enhance the development of sport and active recreation services across a number of activities and/or industry.

New applicants

Prior to lodging an application, all new applicants must contact the Department of Communities (the Department) on phone 07 3033 0896 for advice on their eligibility and how to access the application form.

How do I apply?

The following steps apply to all applications for funding:

  1. Read the Program guidelines carefully and ensure that both your Organisation and your proposed deliverables and initiatives are eligible for funding.
  2. Ensure your strategic plan is updated for 2008-2010 and your application clearly identifies those deliverables from your strategic plan for which you are seeking funding from the Department. The Department is available to provide advice on the development of the funding application.
  3. Complete the application form and supply the requested supporting documentation as listed under 'What is required from my Organisation?' in these guidelines. All questions must be answered fully for your application to be considered.

What funding is available?

The Program provides funding in two categories:

  • Category 1: Organisational Development
  • Category 2: Priority Initiatives.
