Get active theme days
- active attire day - invite everyone to wear clothing for specific physical activities or sports.
- circuit day or circuit afternoon.
- mini-Olympics day.
- aerobics day.
- pioneer or ancient games day with dress up.
- non-traditional sports day including some activities such as croquet, rhythmic gymnastics, orienteering, lacrosse, rollerblading, bocce, wheelchair sports, obstacle course, juggling, hackeysack or frisbee sport.
- multicultural sports day - encourage students to identify games from different cultures and teach them to other students.
- parents and kids day - invite parents to the school for a physical activity open day where parents can participate and students can teach classes to parents.
- girls day - invite a female guest speaker to talk to children about participation in physical activity - check the Australian Council for Health, Physical Education and Recreation (ACHPER) and the Australian Sports Commission catalogues for great active girls resources.
- walk to school day.
- healthy lifestyles day.
- outdoor recreation day.

A few theme weeks
- healthy eating week - ask a breakfast cereal company or bakery to sponsor a healthy breakfast week, or promote a "healthy specials' day" in the canteen (other good ideas can be obtained from the Queensland Association of School Tuckshops and from Nutrition Australia).
- dance week - organise a bush dance, folk dance, square dance, design your own dance or lunchtime disco (dancing is an excellent form of exercise as well as an enjoyable way to learn about other cultures - invite members of the school community to help).
- new games week - encourage classes to make up new games (do this every year and develop a school scrapbook).
